In Memory of ......

In grateful memory of .......
........... our military past, present and future........ Here in the U.S. we're celebrating Memorial Day - I call it a day, but it's actually a special weekend set aside to celebrate thankfully, with family and friends, the incredible price our soldiers have paid and continue to pay for our freedom.

It's also the unofficial, but universally accepted, start of the summer season in this fragment of the globe. Today The Café offers some delicious, seasonal recipes to help you celebrate not only Memorial Day, but the kickoff of the wonderful summer season!

  2. I often wonder what the world would be like without our Army, Navy and Air Force. Not a nice place to live I suspect. Although we do not have memorial day here like you do, we remember the ones who have served us so well on different days. Diane

    I wanted to tell you I finally took your advice & made some beautiful Foccacia from "Artisan Breads in 5 Minutes A Day" - it was great! Post to follow & more recipes from that book for sure!
