The Café is headed to a parade ................ want to come along? It's not just any parade .............
oh no, ...............
it's Parade Magazine!!
If you live in the U.S. and are past the age of puberty, you, most likely, are familiar with Parade Magazine. For those of you living in other parts of the world, an explanation is in order; you see, Parade Magazine is a bit of an icon here in the States. It was (and is) an insert in almost every Sunday newspaper in the country since it's inception in 1941, and has been read by young and old alike. It's said to be the most widely read magazine in the USA.
I can remember as a child, sneaking away to a quiet spot with Parade, my favorite part of the Sunday paper. I loved reading their always fascinating, feature story, learning about famous people and how they lived, being amused by the joke page and musing over the brainteasers, all regular features in Parade. As I grew older, and developed a love for all things culinary, I couldn't wait to check out Parade's weekly recipes.
You might not be aware of this, but, despite that the popularity of delivered newspapers has gone the way of bound encyclopedias, dictionaries and dinosaurs, Parade Magazine continues to live on ............ online! It still has fascinating articles, updates on world events, peeks into the lives of the rich and famous, health tips and ................ wonderful recipes!
We're excited today to share that The Café has been invited to be a weekly Parade Magazine contributor; and today is our debut! We'd love to have you join us at the Parade site; we're sharing a delightful way to celebrate the Fall season with a yummy Pumpkin Coffee Cake. It's got a fun Pecan-Pepita Crumble and is finished off with a fabulous Maple Drizzle. I bet you can already tell that you need this one in your autumn recipe collection!
