About The Café

Chris and Scott are the husband-and-wife team behind The Café Sucre Farine, which they launched in 2011.

Chris is the recipe developer, food stylist, and voice behind the blog, while Scott brings it all to life with his beautiful photography. He also manages the business side (in other words, he keeps everything running like a well-oiled machine!).

At The Café Sucre Farine, the goal is simple: to share food that tastes amazing and actually works in real life. Think easy, elegant recipes that bring people together and help build meaningful connections around the table. Chris and Scott want you to feel like a total kitchen rock star with recipes that are reliable, stress-free, and downright delicious. Every dish Chris shares gets tested (and tested again... and again!) until it's 100% blog-worthy. Whether you're a seasoned cook or still figuring out which end of the spatula to use, The Café is here to encourage and empower you, one delicious recipe at a time!

The site features a wide array of classic and globally-inspired, approachable recipes; everything from vibrant salads and cozy soups to foolproof artisan breads, sweet jams and jellies, easy everyday mains, and show-stopping desserts. Many of these dishes fall into their beloved Ridiculously Easy collection: recipes that look and taste like they came from a fancy restaurant but require minimal time and effort.

The Café Mission

Our mission is to share simple, yet elevated recipes that make room for connection, kindness, and community building. Whether you're feeding your family, opening your door to friends, or just hoping to bring a bit more beauty and joy to your table, we're here to encourage you. Hospitality doesn't have to be fancy or fussy, it's about creating space to nourish both body and soul. And we're honored to be part of that journey with you.

Location and Life

We're blessed to live in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina, near Asheville, and love having all of our immediate family nearby. Our faith in Jesus Christ and love of His Word sustain us daily. You can read more about my (Chris's) faith journey here. And Scott's story can be found here.

The Café Team: Lindsay, Scott, Chris, Cait, Annie & Trish

Over the years, The Café Sucre Farine has grown, not just in readers, but also in the incredible team behind the scenes. What started as a humble kitchen adventure in 2011 has blossomed into a full-on family affair. Our daughter, Cait, and daughter-in-law, Lindsay, grandaughter, Annie and Trish have become invaluable members of the team, helping to keep things organized, running smoothly, and... let's be honest, keeping the "old folks" on their toes in the best possible way!

Our wonderful daughter-in-law, Lindsay, came on board in 2013. What began as helping with a few small tasks has evolved into an essential role here at The Café. Lindsay wears many hats, serving as our trusted recipe tester, helping edit content, coordinating email marketing projects, and creating many of the recipe videos you see on the blog and social media. We truly couldn't do it without her!

In February of 2025, our daughter Cait officially joined the team. With her natural gift for planning, organizing, and making things happen, Cait has stepped into the role of manager and operations coordinator. She handles so many of the behind-the-scenes logistics that keep The Café humming along smoothly, and does it all with calm efficiency and a smile.

In October of 2025 we realized our social media needed more dedicated attention and we were fortunate to have our granddaughter, Annie, step into an official role. Many longtime readers may recognize Annie from stories and photos shared over the years. Today, she helps lead our social media efforts, creating content, sharing behind-the-scenes moments, engaging with our online community, and helping bring The Café's warmth and personality to the various platforms. We love seeing her creativity and fresh perspective shine through.

As The Café has continued to grow, we've been blessed to welcome even more family into the fold. Cait's sister-in-law, Trish, joined the Café team in the spring of 2026. She helps with editing, reader comments, and occasional recipe testing, and has become a wonderful behind-the-scenes support for all of us. Her eye for detail, willingness to help, and heart for serving our readers make her a valued part of the Café family.

We feel incredibly blessed to work side by side with our family, and we love that The Café has grown into a true family affair, rooted in connection, creativity, love, and of course… a whole lot of really good food. It's our joy to share it all with you.
